A Girl Can Only Dream

If someone told me that when I grow up I would be living in New York City covering the bridal fashion scene from the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Amsale, Priscilla of Boston, J.Crew, and more, I would have thought "a girl can only dream."

But I guess that's what today's post is all about: always remember to follow your dreams no matter how big or small. The possibilities are endless and who knows where your dreams will take you.

On another note, may I just say how cute is this little fashionista in training? Dream big little one, dream big!

Wedding Wish Wednesday: Make Up Tips with Daniel Martin

Just as the right outfit isn’t complete without the perfect accessory, no look is complete without a fresh face of makeup. Such was the case at the Christos, Kenneth Pool and Amsale bridal shows this Bridal Market.

Celebrity makeup artist, Daniel Martin led the brilliant makeup team backstage at the Cristos, Kenneth Poole and Amsale Bridal Shows this past Saturday. Amsale’s inspiration draws from understated drama paired with daring, modern style. To complement the designs, Daniel prepped the skin with Koh Gen Do’s Oriental Plants Essence giving it a fresh, dewy complexion. When sculpting the face, Daniel used Koh Gen Do Fresh Face Cheek Color and Maifanshi Face Powder, enhancing the natural beauty and line of the cheek bone. Amsale also adores a bold, bright lip and by using Koh Gen Do’s Sheer Berry Lip Gloss and Pink Red Lipstick, Daniel was able to create a powerful lip without overwhelming the face.

"The Amsale bride is strong and confident. We focused on creating balanced skin and created dimension to the brows and cheek with sculpting shades. The eyes looked dreamy with liner on the inside of the eye with a few coats of mascara and lips were a healthy pink with a bit of sheen. Refined and polished beauty is the Amsale bride," said Daniel Martin

Koh Gen Do products are available at Barneys New York.

Runway Roundup: Amsale Spring 2010

Loving Amsale's modern simplicity and the Little White Dresses are just perfect for the party afterwards. I have a feeling that the ruffled halter design is going to be one of the stand out, stellar dresses of the year!

Thoughts?

I'm Just Mad about Saffron

What is it about the Yellow & Gray color combination that just gets me in such a romantic mood? Is it the bold burst of color to compliment a subdued palette? Is it that Yellow is a little sweet and sassy and Gray is a bit sophisticated and refined? Is it that opposites attract? Am I speaking of colors anymore?

Well, I was inspired to make a Yellow & Gray board after I saw the amazing interior design of Hecker Phelan Guthrie, who designed the dining room space below.

The Dress: Chiffon halter Amsale Gown with floral detail at the neckline.

Guest Attire: I love the bow and one shoulder detail of this amazing Thread Social dress from their Spring 2009 collection.

Fine Dining: Swordfish with a Saffron cream sauce - delicious!

Engagement Ring: Harry Winston emerald cut fancy vivid yellow diamond with trapezoid side stones.

Favors: Yellow boxes with a monogrammed ribbon are the perfect addition to the wedding.

Bridesmaids: You can't go wrong with picking the same designer for your bridesmaid dresses as you did for your wedding gown. Empire strapless gray chiffon with rosette detail at the bust.

Reception: Rather than doing the typical ballroom style wedding, what about finding a fabulous space with all the details already included? This dining room designed by Hecker Phelan Guthrie has just the right touches - aren't the chairs and booths fabulous?

For the Honeymoon: Goyard carry all bag for the style obsessed bride - don't forget your passport!

Invitations: Kate Spade invitations - love the yellow lined envelope!

Well Heeled: Christian Louboutin Bling Bling heels - runway model walk not included.
