I'm Invited!

Who doesn't love being invited to a wedding? Yours truly just received her invitation to a friend's wedding and couldn't be more thrilled! As I gently opened the envelope, I revealed a tasteful and classic invitation perfectly matching my friend's personalitites.

Now the future Mr. and Mrs. both agree understated elegance is the way to go, nothing too ostentatious or contrived. So here are some elegant wedding invitations from Wiley Valentine and Kenzie Kate that celebrate hot summer love without being too obvious.

Proving that you don't always need a palm tree to say beach wedding, bright summer colors convey the same message with style and flair.

And a note to the bride and groom, the RSVP is in the mail!

The Great White Way

As you can tell, I love color! But if you are not ready to commit to a rainbow of color, consider the 80/20 interior rule.

Take a look at the gorgeous space above decorated with the 80/20 rule, creating an overall complimentary setting. Moreover, by using one bold color throughout the entire room, you can create a distinct statement. How does this translate to your wedding? While I show this design principle with white, please do make it your own with your preference of color palette.

Oh Good Reef!

Uniform favors are always tried and true, but for an extra kick of style, how about showcasing your favors in thematically similar wrapping paper like these ones here from the imaginative mind of Rebecca Thuss?

While your location, flowers, colors play a definite role in creating your reception environment, so too will your favors if you infuse a little personality into them. Imagine, if you will, an unexpected display of brightly colored gifts decorating your reception tables and inviting your guests to discover the little treasure hidden inside. Take a note of these coral reef inspired favors that are just the thing for your summer wedding. So pretty I don't even want to open mine!

Throwing It All Away

To toss or not to toss - that is the question. The tradition of tossing the bridal bouquet stems from medieval European times as a symbolic way for the bride to pass along good fortune and luck to one of her guests.

Whether you decide to include this tradition at your wedding is entirely up to you, but should you wish to share the luck, may I suggest including a smaller, but still lovely bouquet for the toss?

Here's a few blooms of various designs intended for just that purpose:
