Slouching may look avant garde in the glossies, but in the real world, it can look downright dowdy. How to get that model-esque length for your pictures? It's as simple as having the right posture! Including benefits to your health and strengthening core muscles (hello flat tummies!), good posture also conveys self-confidence and grace. And seriously brides, who wouldn't want that regal beauty look?

So brides, shoulders back, chin up, and stand tall! And if you must infuse a little fashion forward posing in said photographs, a coquettish tilt of the head will do you just fine.

Wedding Wish Wednesday: Nicole from Thread

I'm so excited to introduce to all my fabulous reader's this week's wedding expert Nicole from Thread! Besides being one of the loveliest and nicest gals in the wedding and fashion industry, Nicole is Thread's PR Director and the charming voice behind their must read blog with a veritable treasure trove of savvy advice for brides.

Here's Nicole's tips on that to die for straight out of the magazine look but often hard to achieve in real life look for your bridesmaids.

Mixing and Matching Colors 101: Some simplified advice for taking the big step away from the Identical Bridesmaid Dress.

Do know that choosing one color (say, grey) in various shades is the easiest way to pull off a 'mixture' of color when it comes to bridesmaid dresses.

Do stick to similar, if not the same, fabrics when mixing colors. A blue seersucker dress just won't work well, for instance, with a green chiffon dress.

Don't be afraid to mix styles and colors of the dresses, so long as there is one uniting theme, such as the detailing, the print, the fabric or the length.

Don't shy away from mixing bold, contrasting hues. So long as you have a 'color inspiration', such as the sunset, it will work. (The foolproof trick here again, folks, is to stick to similar styles and fabrics.)

These dazzlers are from none other than Tara Guérard, event planner extraordinaire. Tara gave the cinderella project the scoop on the design philosophy that will make your reception the one they'll never forget. From Tara:

We loved these lampshades the first time we saw them and we've been able to use them for many events that have totally different looks... the traditional, classic feel to the chandeliers lends itself to events that have a more formal asthetic, but the silver drum shade offers a glam look, so the fixtures also work with a more modern aesthetic.

We've used them everywhere from ambient lighting over bars and dance floors, to grouping many of them in a large lounge tent.

Brides, if you love the look of the chandelier, why not give them a fresh look by combining tradition with modernity? Oh, and the chiffon panels? Swoon!
